The homepage says the MBA programmes are affiliated to Vidyasagar University. The business-management page says the MBA in Business Management is covered over 2 years, in 4 semesters, with specialisation from semester 3.

The homepage says the BBA programmes are regular and full-time and affiliated to Vidyasagar University. The BBA admission page says the same selection rules apply to all three, and that admissions are open for the session 2026-30.

MBA admission

The admission page says the application form can be downloaded from the website or collected at the Kolkata campus. The FAQ says a campus form costs Rs 600. The admission page says a completed form that is couriered needs a demand draft of Rs 700 in the name of Bengal Institute of Business Studies, payable at Kolkata, sent to 18D, Lake View Road, Kolkata 700029.

Documents named on the MBA admission page: one colour passport photograph on the form and one extra photograph, photocopies of Class X, Class XII and graduation marksheets if applicable, a CAT, XAT or MAT marksheet if applicable, and PAN and Aadhaar, which the page says are mandatory.

Exams: The FAQ says BIBS accepts valid CAT, XAT or MAT scores. If the applicant has not appeared for an entrance exam, the FAQ says a BIBSAT test is required. Another FAQ answer names CAT, MAT and GMAT as examples of entrance exams, and says BIBSAT is used when those have not been taken. Final selection includes a personal interview.

Eligibility: The FAQ says the applicant must be a graduate or a final-year student. It also says there is no age bar for the MBA. No minimum graduation percentage is printed on that answer.

The admission page says the same selection rules apply to MBA PGPBM, PGPBA and DS, PGPDM, PGPFM and PGPSCM.

BBA admission

The BBA page says students who have passed Class 12, or who are appearing for the Class 12 board examinations in 2026, may apply. Every applicant must take BIBSAT. Final selection uses the BIBSAT result and a personal interview with the applicant and parents.

• Reserved category: at least 45 percent in the Class 12 examination.

The BBA form can be downloaded or collected at the campus. The page says the campus form, with the course fee structure, costs Rs 500. A couriered form needs a demand draft of Rs 700 in the same name and to the same Lake View Road address. Payments at the institute can be made by debit card, credit card, UPI or online transfer.

 

The pages opened do not print a BIBS scholarship percentage or a rupee award. The homepage does print a Student Credit Card Scheme for students from West Bengal.

BBA Class 12 marks

The BBA admission page prints a minimum of 50 percent in Class 12 for the unreserved category and 45 percent for the reserved category. Final selection also uses BIBSAT and an interview. No BIBSAT score cutoff is printed.

MBA exams

The FAQ does not print a CAT, XAT, MAT or GMAT percentile or score cutoff. It says a valid CAT, XAT or MAT score is accepted, and that BIBSAT is used when the applicant has not appeared for an entrance exam. No minimum graduation percentage is printed on that FAQ answer.

Times of India B-School Survey, 2018-2021

The about page says BIBS was ranked the 2nd best business school in Kolkata and the 3rd best business school in Eastern India for four consecutive years, 2018-2021.

The FAQ states a shorter version: 2nd best business school in Kolkata and top 3 in West Bengal, for 3 consecutive years. The year span on the about page is the one written as 2018-2021.
