B.Tech
The current courses and admissions tables state that B.Tech admission is through IEMJEE counselling. Eligibility differs by specialisation and is listed in the courses section (Class 10 and 12 percentages, and PCM where the table states it).

IEM’s IEMJEE 2026 page states that candidates may choose any date between 8 December 2025 and 30 May 2026, and that there is no IEMJEE examination fee. For B.Tech, the page says the syllabus and mode match JEE Main: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, 30 questions of 4 marks in each section, total 360 marks, duration 2 hours, with a 1-mark deduction for each wrong answer. B.Tech lateral entry preparation is described as following WB JELET sample papers.

The B.Tech microsite states that only IEMJEE scores are accepted. The about page also says IEM admits students from the WBJEE and JEE Main merit lists. Those statements are not treated here as a published rule that WBJEE or JEE Main replaces IEMJEE. WBJEE and JEE Main ranks are used in the 2025–26 scholarship rules for tuition waivers.

Official final B.Tech cutoff ranks or marks are not published on the pages checked. Do not treat any third-party rank as an official requirement.

BBA and BCA
The courses table states admission through IEMCET counselling. Eligibility is Class 10 and Class 12 at 60%, with a gap of up to 2 years allowed. BCA additionally requires Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Computer Application, or Computer Science in Class 12. The IEMJEE page says non-B.Tech admission is through IEMCET.

MBA and MBA (General Management)
The fee table lists CAT and MAT, with 55% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation. The admissions page also states, for MBA full-time and general management: 60% throughout, CAT or MAT cleared, and an aptitude test plus group discussion and personal interview. Applicants should read both official statements. A booking amount of ₹1,62,000 is listed on the fee table.

M.Tech
The courses table states IEMCET counselling, with 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation, for M.Tech CSE, CSE (AI and ML) and ECE.

Other programmes
BHM and BBA LLB are listed with IEMCET counselling and 60% in Class 10 and Class 12. MCA is listed with IEMCET counselling and 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation.

Admission steps published on the admissions page: document verification for newly allotted students; payment for students who take admission; then document submission with the offline admission form. Payment modes listed include NEFT, demand draft, net banking, card, Google Pay and PhonePe. The demand draft name given is Institute of Engineering & Management Trust.

The sole admission offices named by the institute are the IEM Ashram Building, GN-34/2, Sector V, Salt Lake, Kolkata 700091; the UEM building at Plot No III-B/5, New Town Action Area III, Kolkata 700160; and UEM Jaipur. The site says it does not operate any additional admission offices.

Official website
The homepage says the institute provides job assistance and refers to “approximately 100% placement” of engineering and management students. A placement rate of 100% is not stated in this entry. No official current batch percentage was verified.
For 2021, the homepage states: 3 students received 6 job offers, 10 received 5, 63 received 4, 152 received 3, 290 received 2, and 463 received at least 1 offer.
Internships: the site says every student undergoes at least 3 internships during the course. Organisations named on that page include NTPC Ltd., WBSETCL, N.F. Railway, Damodar Valley Corporation, and Metal and Steel Factory, Ishapore.

The institute-hosted NIRF 2025 PDF was not opened, so placement medians from that file are not stored. Highest package, average package, placement percentage and a current recruiter list are not entered, because they were not verified from a current official placement report.

Official final cutoff is not publicly released.

IEM’s pages checked for this entry do not publish a final closing rank or closing score for B.Tech, BBA, BCA, MBA, MCA or M.Tech. Eligibility percentages and the entrance route are admission requirements, not cutoffs. No third-party estimated rank is entered here. Applicants should confirm the current cycle with the IEM admission office.

NIRF 2025 — Engineering — 151–200 band.
Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata, West Bengal, appears on the official NIRF 2025 engineering rank-band list for 151–200 (https://www.nirfindia.org/Rankings/2025/EngineeringRanking200.html). This is a band, not a single rank. IEM is not in the NIRF 2025 engineering top 100.

Outlook 2024 — private B-schools.
The IEM homepage states that the IEM group was ranked the top private B-school in Kolkata and 5th in the East Zone by Outlook in 2024.

The IEM about page and homepage also say IEM was ranked 3rd in West Bengal after IIT Kharagpur and NIT Durgapur, and 79th in India, by NIRF, without a year. That undated claim is not used as the current rank. In NIRF 2025, IIT Kharagpur is rank 5 and NIT Durgapur is rank 49 in engineering, while IEM is in the 151–200 band.
